About the Security Committee

The Security Committee would like to welcome you to Spirit Airlines. We are here to assist you with any security issues you may have. Whether you have a question about the KCM program, the FFDO program, or any security related issues, we are here to help.

The Known Crewmember program, KCM, is an alternative screening program that most of you are probably familiar with. It allows crewmembers to utilize the KCM checkpoints in accordance with the provisions of the program. The details and locations are on the website, http://www.knowncrewmember.org/.  The ALPA app and the ALPA.org website also have specific location and time information. In order to ensure the success of KCM, it is critical that crewmembers adhere to all the rules of the program.  As a reminder, crewmembers utilizing the KCM checkpoint may be subject to additional random screening.

The Federal Flight Deck Officer, FFDO, program is currently accepting applications at: https://www.tsa.gov/about/federal-flight-deck-officer. The FFDO is the last line of defense of the aircraft. These volunteer pilots have provided an additional layer of security since 2003.
