About the Jumpseat Committee

The Jumpseat Committee is here to help you with all your commuting needs, day or night.

Many of you are probably familiar with jumpseating from your previous airline, but some of you may be coming from the corporate world or the military, so jumpseating is a new thing.  It is one of our greatest benefits, and it's something we never want to lose.

There are a lot of issues that come up from day to day, from CASS (Cockpit Access Security System) not working, to agents that don't want to help you, to figuring out how to list on a specific airline.  That's where we come in, we want to know about every issue that you encounter so we can work on getting it fixed.

Download the ALPA app and go to the section labeled "JSEAT", and bookmark www.jumpseatinfo.org.  They will give you all the information you need to list on other airlines.  Sometimes they ask for a three digit listing code, ours is 487.  If you're not familiar with jumpseating, please take a few minutes to read the "Jumpseat Etiquette" section in www.jumpseatinfo.org.

When you are out flying the line, please make sure to walk up to the gate area and make sure there are no jumpseaters trying to catch a ride with us.  We never want to leave a fellow pilot behind.

Send us an email whenever you have a question or if you'd like to inform us about a situation that happened to you while jumpseating.  Most of the time we can answer them quickly. If you have an issue jumpseating on another airlines, please provide us with the date, station, flight number, and gate agent name, if you can get it. This will allow us to provide the other airlines with the information they need to fix the problem
